Closet Case Files Bombshell swimsuit

Honestly, how often does a popular pattern live up to the hype, or the fantastical visions you have of the finished version?  Not often enough.  But this one DOES.

I love this suit.  LOVE this suit.  I WILL wear this suit in public.  I LOVE this suit.

I made the halter version in size 14.  I lengthened the body by 1".  My next (yes, I will make the other view) I will add another 2" in length.  I inserted soft foam cups in the halter, between outer and lining fabric.  I tacked them with a few stitches to the lining and seam allowances only.  The only other change I made was to the halter.  The top of the halter piece was just slightly wider than the ties that were to be attached to it, so I trimmed the halter pieces slightly.  The instructions were good, but the online tutorial on her website is TOPS.  I had no issues.

My fabric is a teal swimsuit lycra from Spandex World.  I bought 2 yards of the outer fabric and 1 yard of lining.  It was enough to made 1.5 suits, so some cute panties are in my future.

Now this took some bravery, posting pictures of myself in a swimsuit.  I am not a bombshell.  But this suit is awesome.  I actually think I look pretty darn good for a 51 year old grandma.  I will be wearing this on the beach in Maui next month.

My husband had nothing but compliments for this one.  Next up, the other version.  In this yummy chocolate lycra.
